Koostico continues to expand it’s repertoire to the point that we can now call ourselves a full-blown dance/party band. That’s a fairly big step from what started out as a simple 3-piece acoustic band. Never fear, we still do the easy listening acoustic stuff when you want it. We just kept getting more and more requests to play at gigs where they wanted to do some dancing so, song by song, we just kept adding them to the list to the point that we can do a whole evening of dance music if that’s what you want. Of course, the songs are the classics golden oldies that you all know.
We just played our first official wedding reception gig at the Grand National Conference Center in Opelika. It was a smashing success. We were in full “dance band” mode with our good friend Jeff Clary helping us out on the bass and some lead guitar. “My Girl”, “Play that Funky Music”, and “Stand By Me” were just some of the tunes that really had the dance floor packed. They just about had to run everybody out at the end of the night. A good time was had by everyone. We now have two, possibly three more wedding gigs lined up in the near future.
Other gigs we have recently played are a 50th birthday party, graduation party, Walk-For-Life Cancer benefit, Auburn Bike Bash, the “Tent” at A-Day, and a couple of times at Snapper O’Malley’s. Summer is usually a slower time for us so if you’ve got a pool party or something you need some entertainment for, please give us a call.
